Ingredients:
For the chocolate cake layers:
1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
2 cups granulated sugar
¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 ½ tsp baking powder
1 ½ tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 large eggs
1 cup whole milk
½ cup vegetable oil
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup boiling water
For the banana cream filling:
2 ripe bananas, mashed
8 oz cream cheese, softened
½ cup unsalted butter, softened
1 ½ cups powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup heavy whipping cream
For garnish:
Sliced bananas
Chocolate shavings
Instructions:
Preheat oven and prepare pans:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

Make the chocolate cake batter:
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract. Beat for 2 minutes on medium speed. Stir in boiling water (batter will be thin).

Bake the cakes:
Divide batter evenly between pans. Bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool completely on wire racks.

Prepare banana cream filling:
Beat cream cheese and butter until smooth. Add powdered sugar and vanilla, mixing well. Fold in mashed bananas. In a separate bowl, whip heavy cream until stiff peaks form, then gently fold into the banana mixture.

Assemble the cake:
Place one chocolate cake layer on a serving plate. Spread half the banana cream filling evenly on top. Add second cake layer and spread remaining filling on top and sides.
