Here’s a simple and delicious recipe for Crispy Golden Brown Egg Rolls that are perfect for an appetizer, snack, or meal. These egg rolls are crispy on the outside and filled with a savory mixture on the inside.

Ingredients:
1 lb ground pork (or chicken, beef, or shrimp)

1 cup shredded cabbage (you can also use coleslaw mix)

1/2 cup shredded carrots

2 green onions, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tbsp ginger, grated (optional)

2 tbsp soy sauce

1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional, but adds great flavor)

1 tsp sesame oil

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp black pepper

12 egg roll wrappers

Vegetable oil for frying (or you can use an air fryer)

Instructions:
Cook the Filling:

In a large skillet, heat a tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium heat.

Add the ground meat and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. Drain any excess fat.

Add the garlic, ginger (if using), green onions, shredded cabbage, and shredded carrots. Stir-fry the mixture for about 5 minutes until the vegetables are tender.

Stir in the soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well and cook for another 2 minutes. Remove from heat and let it cool for a few minutes.

Prepare the Egg Rolls:

Lay an egg roll wrapper on a clean, flat surface, with a corner pointing toward you (so it looks like a diamond shape).

Place about 2-3 tablespoons of the filling near the center of the wrapper.

Fold the bottom corner over the filling, then fold in the sides, and roll tightly to form the egg roll. Seal the top corner with a little water to keep it closed.

Repeat the process for the remaining egg roll wrappers and filling.

Fry the Egg Rolls:

For Deep Frying: Heat vegetable oil in a large, deep skillet or pot over medium-high heat (about 350°F or 175°C).

Carefully place the egg rolls in the hot oil, a few at a time, and fry for about 3-4 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and crispy.

Remove from the oil and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

For Air Frying: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).

Lightly spray the egg rolls with cooking spray to help them crisp up.

Place the egg rolls in a single layer in the air fryer basket and cook for about 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through until golden brown and crispy.

Serve:

Serve your crispy egg rolls hot with dipping sauces like sweet and sour sauce, soy sauce, or spicy mustard!

Tips:
You can add extra vegetables like mushrooms, bell peppers, or bamboo shoots to the filling for added flavor and texture.

If you don’t have an air fryer, you can also bake the egg rolls in the oven at 400°F (200°C) for 15-20 minutes, turning them halfway through to ensure they get crispy.
