Classic Cherry Delight is a no-bake dessert that combines a creamy, smooth filling with a sweet cherry topping, all set on a crunchy graham cracker crust. It’s simple to make, yet incredibly delicious and perfect for any occasion!

Ingredients:
For the Crust:
1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs

1/4 cup sugar

1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted

For the Filling:
8 oz cream cheese, softened

1 cup powdered sugar

1 (8 oz) container of whipped topping (such as Cool Whip)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Topping:
1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling (or fresh cherries with sugar and cornstarch, if preferred)

Instructions:
1. Make the Crust:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a medium bowl, mix the graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter until well combined.

Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9×9-inch (or similar size) baking dish to form an even layer for the crust.

Bake the crust in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until lightly golden and set. Let it cool completely before adding the filling.

2. Prepare the Filling:
In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth and creamy.

Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Continue to beat until well combined and smooth.

Gently fold in the whipped topping using a spatula until fully incorporated. You want the filling to be light and fluffy.

3. Assemble the Cherry Delight:
Once the crust has cooled, spread the cream cheese filling evenly over the graham cracker crust.

Top the filling with the cherry pie filling (or fresh cherry mixture). Spread it evenly over the cream cheese layer.

4. Chill:
Cover the dish with plastic wrap or a lid and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until the dessert is firm and well-chilled.

5. Serve:
Slice the Cherry Delight into squares and serve cold. It’s best enjoyed with a spoonful of the creamy filling and sweet cherry topping.

Tips:
Different Fruit Toppings: While cherry pie filling is traditional, you can substitute it with other fruit fillings like blueberry, strawberry, or mixed berry for a twist.
