🥖 Italian Breaded Steak Sandwich 🥖

🥖 Italian Breaded Steak Sandwich 🥖
Ingredients:
For the Breaded Steak:
4 boneless rib-eye steaks (or your preferred cut)
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 large eggs, beaten
1 ½ cups Italian-style breadcrumbs
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp dried oregano
Salt and pepper to taste
Olive oil (for frying)
For the Sandwich:
4 Italian sandwich rolls (or sub rolls)
1 ½ cups marinara sauce
1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
Prepare the Breaded Steak:
Season the steaks with salt and pepper on both sides.
In one shallow bowl, combine the flour with garlic powder, onion powder, and dried oregano.
In a second bowl, beat the eggs.
In a third bowl, mix the breadcrumbs with the Parmesan cheese.
Dip each steak first into the seasoned flour, then into the beaten eggs, and finally coat thoroughly with the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to ensure it sticks.
Fry the Steaks:
Heat a generous amount of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the breaded steaks and cook for 3-4 minutes per side or until golden brown and crispy. Adjust the heat as needed to prevent burning.
Remove the steaks from the skillet and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
Assemble the Sandwiches:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Slice the Italian rolls horizontally, leaving one side hinged.
Spread a little marinara sauce on the bottom of each roll. Place one breaded steak on each roll.
Spoon additional marinara sauce over the steak and top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
Place the sandwiches on a baking sheet and bake for 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serve:
Remove the sandwiches from the oven and garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired.
Serve immediately while the cheese is hot and gooey!
Enjoy your Italian Breaded Steak Sandwiches – crispy, cheesy, and full of flavor! 😋
