Chocolate Toffee Bark

This crunchy, buttery toffee topped with rich chocolate and chopped nuts is the perfect homemade treat for gifting or indulging. Every bite is a delicious mix of sweet, salty, crunchy, and smooth textures.

Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter
1 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips
1 cup chopped pecans or almonds (toasted if desired)

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a heavy saucepan, melt the butter and sugar together over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture reaches 300°F (hard crack stage) on a candy thermometer. This usually takes about 10–15 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla and salt.
  4. Quickly pour the hot toffee onto the prepared baking sheet and spread it evenly with a spatula before it hardens.
  5. Let it sit for 1–2 minutes, then sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly over the surface.
  6. Allow the chocolate to soften, then spread it smoothly over the toffee.
  7. While the chocolate is still warm, sprinkle the chopped nuts evenly over the top and gently press them in.
  8. Let the bark cool completely at room temperature or in the refrigerator until firm.
  9. Once set, break it into pieces by hand or with a knife.

Storage

Store your chocolate toffee bark in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks or in the refrigerator for longer freshness.

A simple yet irresistible treat — sweet, nutty, and buttery with the perfect crunch in every bite!
